Your questions

Make yourself comfortable.

Do I need a GP referral?

You can request a private assessment without a GP referral. If your insurer is paying, check its referral and authorisation requirements first.

What should I wear?

Choose comfortable clothing that lets you move. Your physiotherapist will explain any assessment needs and ask for your consent. You can bring someone with you.

How long is my first appointment?

Allow 45 minutes for an initial assessment. This includes talking through your concerns, assessing movement and discussing a plan.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies. We agree goals and review progress with you rather than promising a fixed course or outcome.

Can I change my appointment request?

This demonstration sends no request. On a real practice website you would contact the practice to change or cancel an appointment.

What if I am unsure which service to choose?

Choose an initial assessment or request a consultation. Please do not include medical details in the contact form.

Can I use health insurance?

Major health insurers accepted (sample). Contact your provider to check authorisation and cover. This is a fictional example and no insurer is connected.

Do I need to be an athlete?

No. This service is for recreational activity as well as organised sport. Tell us what you want to get back to.

Can I keep training?

That depends on your assessment. Your physiotherapist can discuss suitable changes rather than assuming you need to stop everything.

Will I need a scan?

A scan is not needed for every musculoskeletal problem. Your physiotherapist will discuss whether another professional or further investigation may be appropriate.

Is hands-on treatment always used?

No. Treatment is discussed with you and requires your consent. Advice and movement may form part of the plan.

When should I start?

Timing depends on the procedure and your surgical team’s advice. Check your discharge instructions before requesting an appointment.

What should I bring?

Bring your discharge letter, any rehabilitation protocol and a list of current medicines. Do not send these through the demo form.

Does massage have to hurt?

No. Pressure should be comfortable and agreed with you. You can ask to change or stop the session at any point.

Is it a substitute for an assessment?

No. New, unexplained or persistent symptoms may need a physiotherapy or medical assessment rather than massage.
